We Are Looking for New Artist Members!

We are looking for new artist, and fine crafters to join us at The Locals, and sell their work.  New member applications will be taken through October 10th, after which membership will be closed through the holiday season. Interested parties should make inquiries at http://www.thelocals.be/join_as_artist_crafter or in person at The Locals.

The Locals, a program of La Lucha Space (a 501(c)(3) non-profit), is a community space/storefront in downtown Conway, whose mission is to promote and support small local producers including farmers, food producers, musicians, artist and fine crafters. The Locals provides convenient and consistent access to locally made/grown goods, delicious coffee made from locally roasted beans, and a space for people to meet, connect with the community and get involved with diverse events and activities.

Artist members are approved by the La Lucha Space board and go through an enrollment process so they can start selling their work in-store and have opportunities to engage with the public through workshops and other special events. Monthly membership fee is $25 and 12.5% of gross sales (retail prices set by individual producers). The Locals’ team will track inventory and sales as well as collect and report any necessary sales tax. New members pay a one-time $75 sign-on fee that covers the first month’s rent.

Only craft artists who create and market their own original handcrafted work may participate in The Locals. The Locals does not accept commercially manufactured products or items manufactured from molds or kits, toxicity in a finished piece, or non-original designs.
