The Locals Food Hub

The USDA’s Local Food Promotion Program, a grant made by the Agricultural Marketing Services grant infused Conway, Arkansas with more than $90,000 to create a food aggregation hub and to implement pop-up farmers markets in diverse locations around town. Our objectives are two-fold, to increase the volume of food small local farmers can sell in Conway by providing an aggregation point, and to keep developing excitement and consumer education around the local food movement in Conway through pop-up farmers markets.

The Locals Food Hub in Conway, is located on 2001 Tyler St, on the premises of Bell Urban Farm. This Food Hub looks like a tiny house and will serve as cold storage/giant refrigerator for the locally grown produce that we will help distribute to our community. The Locals Food Hub partnered with New South Farmers Cooperative for four years to increase the access to local ingredients for local restaurants, and to open a new CSA pick up location in Conway. Currently, the food hub serves as an aggregation center for the Farm Stand at Bell Urban Farm.
