Join us as we welcome the Faulkner County Urban Farm Project's first, full-time, Arkansas Gardencorps service member: Crystal Bowne. Crystal has extensive experience with gardening and growing food sustainably, a background in education and an extensive knowledge of plant varieties and their uses. Thanks to the Friends of the Library, Crystal will officially start serving Conway's community garden on September 19th. Come give her a warm welcome at this event, where former UCA professor Cliff Beacham will be saying a few words about the community garden, how it got started, and the potential for it to become an essential educational tool for people of all ages interested in getting their hands dirty, learning more about where food comes from, and how we can become part of a healthier local food system.
